My name is Angelo Fernandez and I’m a student enrolled at UT Dallas studying Emerging Media and Communication. I have been a soccer referee since I was 12, studied engineering at Austin Community College for a few years, and was a research lab assistant for 3 years for UT Austin and the NAVY at the Applied Research Labs but now I find myself at UTD drawn into the fields of advertising, communication and public relations. I want to use the skills and philosophies I’m learning in Emerging Media and Communication (EMAC) along with my passion for advertising and communication to make a site that’s ahead of it’s time. I want to show my worth by making a site that incorporates both English and Spanish speakers alike.
My unique perspective and wealth of knowledge from my Latin upbringing and English schooling will be able to reach the untapped Hispanic market and seamlessly merge it with the massive English advertising market that we have here in the United States. I want a site where everyone can participate, interact and create work they’re proud of. By using everything I’ve learned and what I will continue to learn I want this site to grow in both popularity and credibility creating a new wave of ideas and art. This will be a source for companies to look for future employees and for relative unknowns to make a name for themselves. This site will be the mecca of advertising because it will incorporate such a wide variety of people from different backgrounds working together to make ground-breaking work in art, advertising and communication.
